Worship is very important to us here at Hanson United Methodist Church. We feel that it is one of the primary ways that we encounter our amazing, wonderful, loving God. Our primary focus in all our worship is to bring people into the presence of Jesus.
For thousands of years many Christians have followed an ancient form of worship so that they might encounter their wonderful grace filled Lord and God. They confessed their sins together, asked for forgiveness together, sang songs together, sang the psalms together, read scripture together, heard teaching together, and received holy communion together. This form of worship has become sacred because it has led so many people into powerful encounters with an amazing God. During this service we use the ancient form in meaningful new ways so that you might encounter our amazing savior, Jesus the Christ. This service does include holy communion which is open to all believers every Sunday.
Between our two worship services on Sunday mornings we have a time of focused study of the Bible during Sunday School. We have classes for preschool - younger elementary, older elementary, and several adult Sunday school classes. We hope that you will consider joining one of these classes as we learn together about the Lord through the study of scripture.
Our church is filled with people from all different ages and stages of life and we love worshiping together. Because we have a blend of people we use a blend of styles of worship music. We use some of the most contemporary praise and worship music as well as old favorite hymns and songs. During this service we not only sing together but we also have a time of prayer and a special time for our children. Our pastor brings a passage of scripture to life and helps us understand how it applies to our lives. (We have Children's Church during this service, so the children can go for a special time of their own following the children's message.)
